How It Works: Run a Miner & Turn your Bandwidth into Rewards
It is easy to become a Twitter data miner on the Masa Protocol. Set up your miner, share your Twitter pro-account credentials (it will be kept private) and your internet bandwidth.
Once the miner is set up, your miner will start mining Twitter data. You’ll earn one point for every validated tweet you contribute to the Masa Protocol.
Participants can set up multiple miners and stack up your points. The goal is to aggregate, structure, and preprocess as many high-quality tweets from Twitter as possible throughout the duration of the testnet.
Every validated tweet each miner serves to the network will count as a point. The top 100 miners with the most points at the end of the testnet will earn rewards!
Ready to join? Follow these steps:
- Register as a Miner: Set up your miner using your Twitter pro-account credentials (this costs $8 US Dollars per month).
- Set Up Your Miner: Hardware requirements include 2 vCPUs, 8GB RAM, and 25GB storage.
- Run the Twitter Scraper: Use the Masa Twitter scraper to contribute valuable data to the network and earn rewards.
- Run the Miner from Home: We recommend running a miner from home from a residential IP address. If you’re running a miner from the cloud, you’ll likely need a proxy IP service.

How to Earn Points:
- Earn 1 point for each validated tweet your miner contributes to the network. You can run multiple miners to stack up points.
- Earn 10% of the points generated by each of your qualified referrals. All qualified referrals will also earn 1 point for each validated tweet they contribute to the network.
- Your total points from the validated tweets, plus your validated referral tweets, will be added together and determine your rank in the prize pool.
As a reminder, your referred friends need to complete the registration form, complete setting up their miners, and actively run their miners for you to qualify.

- Final Rewards Published: November 30th, 2024, on a public Dune Dashboard at https://dune.com/masa-network/masa
- Rewards Distribution: At the Masa Protocol mainnet launch, targeted for Q4 2024. Your rewards will be issued on the Masa Protocol which is set to launch in Q4 of 2024.
